Education:
· Harvard Business School, 1992-1993 – one-year program in General Management, Corporate Strategy and Organizational Behavior – amazing school, world-renowned professors, international student body, field trips to great companies in the Boston area, shadowing managers (in my case it was the CEO of Avid), courses on case method pedagogy, a real jump start to the profession
· University of California, Irvine, The Paul Merage School of Business, Visiting Scholar, 1991 – my first experience and exposure to the MBA teaching (full-time, part-time, executive, FLEX, etc.), getting sense of the profession, great time in the sunny Southern California
· Charles University (in cooperation with Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences), Computerized Data Analysis, 1982 – a top notch post-graduate program, learned a lot, fond memories
· Charles University, Praha, sociology (major) – political economy, 1969-1975 – those who could, were largely not allowed, those who could not were teaching, but exceptions existed
· New York University, School of Continued Education, 1969 – what a surprise, I enjoyed going to school, for the first time in my life!
· Secondary Engineering School Betlémská, Prague – it was a mistake, but I honed my survival skills there
Teaching:
· 2012 - present: Swiss Business School, Zürich, Flex and Exec MBA, teaching Organizational Behavior and Leadership – a brand new format for me, demanding students but I enjoy working there; most helpful staff
· 2010 - present: Academy od Health Care Management, Prague, Executive MBA program for health care professionals, in cooperation with Auburn University
· 2000 - 2001: DePaul University, Behavior in Management, weekend MBA – looked to me like a hastily stitched program, I discontinued my teaching there is I felt that I was not giving the students what they deserved and needed
· 1998 - 2002: University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business, teaching Managing People for their MBA program in the Czech Republic - it ended prematurely as they unfortunately they pulled out of the Czech Republic much too early, probably as soon as the Canadian government gran had run out
· 1993 – 2002: International Executive Development Center, Bled Slovenia, courses taught: Organizational Behavior, Negotiation, Management Skills and others – sometimes referred to as one of the finest small business schools in Europe
· 1994: Zagreb University, School of Management, Visiting Professor, Course: Organizational Behavior – short visit but well worth it, post-war Croatia
· 1991 - 2002: University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Management, I taught for them Organizational Behavior, Executive Leadership, Management Skills, Organizational Transformation, Organization Design a other courses; by all accounts the best full-time and exec MBA programs in the country at the time
· 1997: University of California, Irvine, The Paul Merage School of Business, Visiting Professor, 1997 – Courses taught: Organizational Behavior (core), Management Consulting Process (elective) for MBA, fully employed MBA and undergraduate programs – my beloved Southern California, my favorite school, and my bright students
